SMC Home Privacy Policy

SMC Home is a private, personal Home Assistant installation used to manage and automate smart-home devices.

This application is not a commercial service and is intended only for use within my own household.

Google Nest Data

SMC Home uses Google's Smart Device Management API to access information from Google Nest devices connected to my home.

This may include information such as:

• Current thermostat temperature
• Target temperature
• Humidity readings
• Heating or HVAC operating state
• Thermostat configuration and status

How the Data Is Used

Google Nest data is used solely to display device information and to allow heating controls and home automations within Home Assistant.

The data is not used for advertising, profiling, marketing, or any other unrelated purpose.

Data Storage

Smart-home information may be stored locally by my private Home Assistant installation for purposes such as device history, dashboards and automations.

This information is not intentionally made publicly available.

Data Sharing

Personal information and Google Nest data are not sold, rented or shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Data may be exchanged with Google only as required for authentication and operation of the Google Nest integration.

Access and Revocation

Access to Google Nest data can be revoked at any time through the Google Account or Google Home settings.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the way SMC Home accesses or uses smart-home data changes.
